Some more tests (& firmware updates) to go to see wether this has to do with my Denon amp being linked with the OPPO via HDMI (upon firmware update, 1st time screen went black was upon powering up amp)?

I have yet to try a international DVD but my Mom is sending me some German DVD's for my kids so i will leave some feedback after i try them out.
I also love that this DVD player has a memory. It will recognize a DVD that was played before and then skip right through everything so we can watch the movie. Great feature!!

Good DVD Player! The Pioneer DV-610AV-S DVD player has proved to be a truly remarkable device. After only about 25 minutes reviewing the clearly-written instruction manual, In my opinion the DV-610AV-S player produces a picture which rivals any Blu-Ray picture I have ever seen. Originally, I purchased this machine just to play my foreign DVDs, but it's so good I use it to view all my DVDs. This player comes with a US type plug(no plug adapter needed), an easy-to-understand manual, out-of-the-box play-ability and top notch picture and sound quality to equal the best players on the market--my 56" Samsung DLP TV never had it so good. However, be aware that this device was intended for foreign markets and does not come with a US warranty from Pioneer. This is one of the best and most satisfying purchases I have made in a long time.

Excellent BluRay! LG BD570 All Blu Ray Zone A B C Multi Region Zone Code Free  YouTube DVD Blu-ray Player Review: I have been searching for decent blu-ray player along with multi zone capabilities. I have the LG BD370 thats a standard region 1 zone a player that has been working fine and have been very satisfied. Even when I had question I called LG and their support was great. So when I noticed that LG has a region free blu-ray player, I jumped for it and purchased it. LG BD370 works great with loads of extra features. Its very easy to hook up and works great with my wireless router. I needed a region free player is because I moved overseas from the US. So now I am able to play European DVDs as well as American dvds without any problems. And it plays Zone A and B blu rays. The only down side about this player is that I had to purchase a small voltage converter to able to use it with 220 Voltage, but its no big deal works perfectly fine. Definitely recommend this region free blu ray player.

IT PLAYS OTHER REGIONS!!!, CODEFREE LG BD630 Blu Ray DVD PLAYER: I've had a DVD copy of WILD SIDE with Joan Chen, Anne Heche and Christopher Walken for about 3 years, the original length of 111 minutes, but I could not play it because it was a PAL DVD 9 Region code 0. About 10 minutes after I received the player, as set up was ridiculously easy, I hit a red button on the remote as instructed, than 0, as the insert said, and the movie came right on! The sound is good and the video quality excellent. LG added a converter to this model but I don't understand why they did not give it a new model number, as it only confuses potential buyers, especially because there is a large price difference. It's worth the money if you need a REGION FREE DVD and Blu-Ray player.
